Himeji Castle

Overview

Himeji Castle, located in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, is Japan’s most spectacular surviving example of early 17th-century castle architecture. Often called the "White Heron Castle" due to its elegant, white appearance, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Treasure of Japan. The castle complex is renowned for its impressive size, sophisticated design, and defensive capabilities.
